Choosing a good phonics program for your school

The Phonics website was created to offer schools and early years settings support in choosing an effective phonics teaching program.

Core Criteria

To achieve this, the UK Department for Children, Schools and Families developed a core set of criteria that incorporate the key features of an effective phonics program. Publishers are invited to assess their own programs against these criteria and have them displayed on the Phonics website.
